Penang

Hi there!

I went to Penang last week for 6 days. I was there on business but I just had to bring my kids along with me since nobody was available to take care of them here in KL. Well, no problem with that because I would be in peace when they were with me all the time. So, I arranged my time accordingly so that my business meetings would be on schedule and my kids would be attended to as well.

The first two nights and three days we stayed at Hydro Hotel which was superb. The room was huge. There was one king-sized bed, a living room consisted of a white large sofa, a coffee table and two wide armchairs. There was also a working table with lamp and leather chair. It was indeed a comfortable room that I enjoyed so much. Oh yes, there were two balconies, one with two pool chairs and a round table, another balcony with two plastic chairs and a square table. My children loved the spacious room that they turned it into a football field during the day!!!

The next three nights we stayed at Hard Rock Hotel. I requested for a family room but because I was too occupied that day, we checked in a little bit late and the room was taken. But, we were given a special room instead - Lagoon Deluxe Pool View. I was told that only celebrities and famous people stayed in these rooms, CT was one of them, Yusry KRU too!!!! Wow, I chose not to complaint but enjoy the room. The room was spectacular with a balcony and you could just straight away jump into the swimming pool. Yes, open the balcony door and you could enjoy the swimming pool right away....that's how beautiful the room was, no wonder they're reserved for famous people...

During the days, I was busy with meetings and work. At night, I took my kids around and we painted Georgetown red!!!! We ate and ate until wee hours in the morning. We had Nasi Beratur, the most famous nasi kandar in Penang.....I had to admit that it was the best, the real thing and I had Nasi Beratur four nights in a row.....it started exactly at 10pm, if you were there before time, that was not Nasi Beratur, it was a different one. At the same premise, there were four different people selling nasi kandar, they took turns selling. The best one was of course the one at 10pm...

I also had the best tandoori in town. I thought the one that I always ate near my house was the best ever but this one was even better!!! The tandoori was out of this world with juicy chicken and the spices were one of a kind, it's indescribable....you've got to taste it yourself to enjoy it...

Well, there were many other foods that I wanted to try but I was in Penang not for leisure, so, I just had to make do with the Nasi Beratur and Tandoori....
